ANTECEDENTS
Orisol® oil originated with the extraction of oils from the cottonseed which was found
in the eastern coast of the country. During the second half of the 20th century the cotton
plantations began to disappear, other types of vegetable oils were used to blend Orisol®.
Currently Orisol® is blended with Soybean and Palm Oils and our Orisol Premium® lines consist
exclusively of both 100% sunflower oil and 100% corn oil.
We have
various sizes of packages for our lines which consist of plastic bottles and bags. For our
plastic bottles we use PET which is highly resistant. We have the following sizes:
a) Pet 200 milliliters
b) Pet 750 milliliters
c) Pet 1500 milliliters
d) Pet 1875 milliliters (1/2 gallon)
e) Pet 3750 milliliters (1 gallon)
We also package Orisol® in flat plastic bags and in Ecopack plastic bags for
the wholesale and national market in the following sizes:
a) Flat Bat of 500 milliliters
b) Flat Bag of 750 milliliters
c) Ecopack Bag of 375 milliliters
d) Ecopack Bag of 500 milliliters
e) Ecopack Bag of 750 milliliters
Our traditional market it stems from various points of sale which include:
wholesale, semi-wholesale, and retail reaching approximated 7,500 clients.
In the case of Supermarkets La Fabril supplies all the existing chains such as:
Super-Selectos (79 stores), La Fragua/Despensa Don Juan with (46 stores), Europa S.A.
(4 stores) making a total of 129 stores nationwide.
We also package Orisol Premium® bottles in 100% corn and sunflower oil in the following sizes:
a) Pet 750 milliliters (100% Corn and
100% Sunflower)
b) Pet 1500 bottles of milliliters (Corn and Sunflower)
Consumer Objectives:
Edible oils is a main consumption product throughout the country and our
objective is to reach all households, in all the social layers, offering a
variety of oils at various price points. Our mixture of soybean and palm
oil contain 46% in saturated shortenings while our corm oil and sunflower
oil only contain 11% and 9%, respectively, in saturated shortenings.
Market Position:
Presently have over 46% market share being the leaders in the industry and
selling more oil than any other company nationwide. Our largest seller
nationwide is the 750 milliliters Ecopack and Flat Bag category.
Publicity:
Generally we manage our brand, Orisol® through various promotions at the
point of sale which have yielded excellent results over the past 5 years.
In addition to direct promotions we also run national television and radio
adds targeting our key market segments with the aim of maintaining customer loyalty.
